Bhagavad
Gita series
|
The Bhagavad Gita is one of the central Scriptures
of Indian philosophy, Yoga theory and practice and spirituality
in general.
The Gita outlines the practice of Yoga in its various
aspects.
Profound questions like
• How can we turn our daily duty into Yoga?
• What is the right attitude for our actions?
• How to practice meditation?
• What is God?
are answered in depth.
The Gita can be understood as exposition on the ultimate
question of life: Who am I?
Even though the setting of the Gita is a battlefield
on which the mighty warrior Arjuna asks practical and
spiritual advice to his charioteer, friend and guru
Krishna, it also directly addresses us modern people.
It has the ability to guide us with tremendous power
and beauty in daily life and spiritual practice: The
battlefield is within every one of us, and the Gita
shows us how to deal with it. |
In the first instance, the Gita addresses housholders, people
with family life, people with worldly responsabilities. Living
in the world is seen and portrayed as unique challenge and
opportunity for ones own spiritual growth.
